Potica Report

As of this writing we still have a few Poticas.  The ladies are taking a much needed break.  We spend all day Monday baking, then on Tuesday some of the ladies wrap and freeze Monday’s baking.  Someone washes the pastry cloths and dish towels we use on Monday.  Supplies have to be purchased for baking the next week.  Our dedicated ladies do all this for their love of Holy Trinity.  We only ask that you but the Poticas.  We have been blessed that our sales have been great!

Sunday, December 14th, during our Parish Christmas Party, we gave the church $10,000.  This was only possible through your donations of flour and sugar and the many money donations.

If you need a “special order” of Poticas, you can call Gloria Leffler at 634-8025.

St.
Vincent de Paul News

We do not have a total of our Christmas projects at this time, but will give a report later.  We wish to extend a big “Thank You” to all who participated in our Advent Giving Tree project.  You have brightened many children’s Christmas.  May God bless you in your care of the poor.

In our home visits we are finding many people who have been laid off from work.  Their rent and utilities take most of the money they have available, so they need help if some appliance breaks or if they are short of food.  Holy Trinity parishioners have been generous in giving to the food pantry.  We have also received food from St. Michael, the Knights of Columbus, IUPUI, and St. Susanna and continue to pray for more donations.  Most of us at Holy Trinity have never been without food; but, our parents went through tough times and have told us about how it was back then.

We don’t have the January schedule for the Warehouse as of yet.  We worked on December 20th and may not need to work in January.  We always need volunteers every 6 weeks.

Our meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month in Bockhold Hall after the 10 a.m. Mass.  Please consider joining us on January 4th.

God bless you during 2009!
