Potica Report
April 2009
Our ladies have been busy baking for everyone’s Easter tradition. Do all of you remember when we would take our homemade wine, potica, and sausage to be blessed? Easter breakfast was, and still is for many Slovenian households, sliced eggs and sausage with fresh horseradish shredded over the top of the plate of delicacies. Sliced potica and wine finished out the traditional Easter treat. That is always my favorite breakfast of the year.
The supply of potica is good. We hope that many of you will purchase your potica from our potica committee at Holy Trinity. Let your friends know that we have them. I always send a potica to the members of my family that live out of town. The cost is $20.00 per loaf.
Pick-up times are Wednesdays from noon until 2:30 p.m., and after the 10:00 a.m. mass on Sunday. Call Gloria at 634-8025 for special pick-up times. New this year we will have someone at Holy Trinity on Good Friday afternoon, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., and Holy Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Ring the doorbell at Bockhold Hall to pick up your Easter potica.
Have a blessed Easter season.

Starting this month we will be featuring one of our potica bakers for each of the upcoming issues of The Trinitarian. It will feature everything you wanted to know about your potica bakers, but were afraid to ask.
As you may know, Frances Fisher turned over the reins of the committee to Janet Black. Janet is a former member of Holy Trinity and has rejoined as of February of 2008. She is the former Janet Stanich. Janet attended
If you have not donated any sugar or all-purpose flour to the committee, please consider doing so. It is a big help for us to receive your donations.

Potica Report
February 2009
The ladies baked Potica for the KSKJ Sausage Feast so we do have Potica available. Potica operation has begun a mild transition and the ladies will be taking a much deserved break. But, don’t worry they will soon be back in operation, after all the Lenten season is on its way. In the meantime . . . Happy Valentine’s Day ! ! !

Potica Report
January 2009
As of this writing we still have a few Poticas. The ladies are taking a much needed break. We spend all day Monday baking, then on Tuesday some of the ladies wrap and freeze Monday’s baking. Someone washes the pastry cloths and dish towels we use on Monday. Supplies have to be purchased for baking the next week. Our dedicated ladies do all this for their love of Holy Trinity. We only ask that you but the Poticas. We have been blessed that our sales have been great!
Sunday, December 14th, during our Parish Christmas Party, we gave the church $10,000. This was only possible through your donations of flour and sugar and the many money donations.
If you need a “special order” of Poticas, you can call Gloria Leffler at 634-8025.

December 2008
We will be baking on Mondays through December 15th. Please pick up your Poticas as soon as possible so we will continue to have plenty of freezer space available for storage of the Poticas as they are baked.

Even though Gloria has retired as of October 31st, she has agreed to continue to take telephone calls for Poticas. You may also leave a message on the Kitchen telephone, which is checked for messages on a weekly basis. The telephone number for the Kitchen is 634-2289.
We will all miss having Gloria in Bockhold Hall helping sell Poticas during the week. Happy Retirement to you, Gloria!
