RENOVATION UPDATES AT HOLY TRINITY

Holy Family Shelter Project

  • Demolition / New Construction project:  By the time you read this, demolition of Lavric Hall, Mary Carl Hall, and the rectory garage should be well underway, with completion in December and laying the foundation of the new Holy Family Shelter to begin before Christmas. – The grotto which was located between Lavric and Mary Carl Halls has been removed.  The statue of Mary has been stored and the limestone is being saved for shrine reconstruction in the garden property on the south east corner of St. Clair and Holmes Avenue across the street from the church. – The entire Holy Family Shelter project is scheduled for completion next summer.
  • New Boiler in the Church:  Preparation has been completed for installation of the new boiler.  It should be installed and operational early in December.  The front radiators in church have been moved back one row.  New carpeting repairs are expected before the end of November.
  • Access to the Church:  Due to the demolition and the construction underway on the north side of the church building, there will be no physical access to the church through the two side doors of the church.  However, the Archdiocese and the contractors are exploring a suitable handicap access solution, one that we hope to have in place as soon as side door access is restricted.

Bockhold Hall Roof Replacement:  Installation of the new roof on Bockhold Hall is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 24.

Bockhold Hall Kitchen Clean up

It was a grimy job, but someone had to do it!

On Saturday, September 27th, Bockhold Hall’s kitchen was thoroughly washed down with the help of Gloria Leffler and a cadre of volunteers organized by Dan Sebanc.  A morning’s worth of labor by 11 volunteers yielded a sparkling kitchen for the benefit of the entire parish.  Many thanks to Gloria Leffler who provided the products and experience to get the grease and grime removed.  Thanks also to Dan Sebanc for his capable organizing, and also to the volunteers listed here who provided the elbow grease:  Ed Holloran, Ray Brooking, Joe Luzar, Bruce Smith, Joe Bajt, Carl Quinn, Joe Etter, & Paul Barbarich.
