In the heart of Haughville on the corner of North Holmes Avenue & West St. Clair Street on the near westside of Indianapolis, Indiana.

1.) (a)   Many people think the term Immaculate Conception refers to Jesus’ being conceived in Mary’s womb.  Actually the term refers to Mary’s conception in her mother Ann’s womb.  The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception was announced in 1854, and it tells us that Mary was given special gifts by God because of the role she was going to play in salvation history.

2.) (a)   The X, which stands for the Greek letter chi, was used along with the Greek letter rho, as an early abbreviation for the word Christ.  Far from crossing Christ out of Christmas, Xmas is part of our long history!

3.) (b)  The Sunday after Christmas is a natural time to celebrate the life of the Holy Family and to think about those hidden years of Jesus’ life, when he was growing up in Nazareth.
