2ND GRADERS WILL HAVE DAILY HOMEWORK THIS YEAR
Good homework habits are so important! 2nd and 3rd graders will be using daily planners to list homework they need to do. This will help prepare them for becoming much more independent in 4th grade.
2nd graders should be able to do their homework independently, as it reviews skills that are being practiced in the classroom. However, parents should check the homework to see that it is complete. If you see errors, ask your child how or why he/she has arrived at that answer.
Please write me a note in the daily planner comment area if your child struggled with reading or understanding directions, staying on task, or performing the skill.
Frequently 2nd graders do not read directions carefully. Guiding your child toward slowing down, rereading directions, highlighting or underlining directions and/or numbering direction steps helps your child become a more organized learner.
Thank you for your loving care and concern of your child's study andwork habits, which will help him/her be more careful and ultimately, more independent.
