Augsburg Fortress
Augsburg Fortress, Publishers, is the Publishing House of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are a church-related business, officially authorized to participate in realizing the mission of this church in fidelity to its biblical and confessional commitments. Our organizational identity is therefore shaped by distinctly Lutheran emphases as well as by growing ecumenical cooperation. We exist to equip ourselves and others to communicate, through a variety of means, the promise of God's redemptive graciousness to people in diverse circumstances. Our goal is to enhance the faith, life, and well-being of the public we serve -- the institutions and people of this church and beyond. Core Illinois We are a member of the National Lutheran Core Free Standing Synod, created as a place for Confessional Lutherans to join together for the sake of traditional Gospel Ministry in Illinois. We are a group of pastors, laity and congregations who have assembled (the original Greek word for this is 'synod') together in hopes of a reconfiguration of the Lutheran witness to the Christian faith. We are interested in promoting a law-Gospel understanding in the practice of the Christian faith and come together for the sake of the Great Commission to reach into a world that is increasingly not able to clearly hear the simple message of the Gospel as it has been given throughout the ages. Ken Collins Web Site This site includes the scripture readings to be used in worship in addition to many articles about the church. It answers questions about liturgy, church year, and basic doctrines of the church. Lutheran CORE The over-arching goal of Lutheran CORE is to be a voice for the Word of God within the church. We are, therefore, a confessing and confessional movement within the Lutheran church. We seek the renewal of Lutheran churches according to Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, and we endorse the Common Confession as a summary of Lutheran convictions for our time and place. Lutheran CORE is open to all who share our commitment for renewal — congregations, lay people, pastors, and other reform movements. Lutheran World Relief Lutheran World Relief extends the hand of Christian love to people overcoming poverty and injustice in 50 countries. We work to secure safe water, nutritious food, good health, improved skills and better livelihoods. When disasters strike, LWR provides food, medicine, clothing and shelter. Whatever the task, we act in partnership with local organizations, strengthening communities today and training leaders for tomorrow. North American Lutheran Church The NALC embodies the theological center of Lutheranism in North America. It is a church body committed to the authority of the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm of its proclamation, faith, and life. In keeping with the Lutheran Confessions, we believe all doctrines should and must be judged by the teaching of Scripture. The NALC is committed to shaping its life around four attributes: Christ-Centered, Mission-Driven, Traditionally-Grounded, and Congregationally-Focused. The NALC is a renewed Lutheran community moving forward in faith and mission, focused on living out Christ’s Great Commission to go and make disciples. We hope that you will see the NALC as a church body that will enable your congregation to carry out its mission and ministry faithfully. Reverend Fun Religious Cartoon updated daily. Seven Marks Society We are an evangelical catholic ministerium of Lutheran congregations, pastors and laity, committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ through which we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith. We exist in mutual support of one another, remaining traditional, orthodox, confessional and sacramental Lutherans in continuity with the Great Tradition of the Church throughout the ages, respecting the proper role of bishops to defend the faith, the proper role of pastors as stewards of the mysteries of Christ, and the proper role of the laity as missionaries in word and deed. Our mission of the Gospel is within the community of Lutheran Christians, to work cooperatively with other faithful Confessional Lutherans committed to the Gospel which we have received. The Society of the Holy Trinity The Society is an association (ministerium, order) of pastors who have been ordained in Lutheran churches throughout North America and Australia. In a time of doctrinal confusion and moral uncertainty, we support one another in remaining faithful to the promises spoken at ordination. |
