Welcome to the Journey Close website
This website is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her son, Jesus. My name is Jeannie and I live in Malaysia. I am 34 years old. I began surfing the net in 1996. Eversince, I enjoy learning a lot of new stuff from the net. One of them is creating and designing websites. The net has also allowed me to learn more about my religion and finally create this website on January 2000.
I was born a Catholic and was taught catechism by a nun for six years, starting age 7. After that six years, I began to drift away from God. Throughout my teen days, I indulged in what any teen would do - hanging around with friends and catching up with the latest trends in the pop music world. For me, life then was a flower and all I ever cared of was to have fun with teens my age. No doubt I experienced a lot of ups and downs as well in my teen days. I guess all the downs have helped me become a stronger person. My life changed tremendously when I came accross sites like Catholic City and Medjugorje websites. These websites allowed me to read stories and articles on the apparitions of Our Lady and Jesus.
These stories shared about how people's lives have been changed through the simple messages of Our Lady and Jesus. They touched me a lot. Not only me, I think others who surfed these sites as well. In July 1999, I have been asking Our Lady to make full use of me through the Internet. One day, I came across a site called "The Blue Army". It's an organisation dedicated to spread Our Lady's messages in Fatima. Now I am a member of Blue Army. My mom bought me a website back then and it enabled me to create unlimited pages on the web. I know Our Lady and Jesus have listened to my prayer. I am really grateful and thankful to be given the opportunity to create this site. I hope this website will help you not to lose faith and hope in Our Lady and Jesus in times of hardships for they are always faithful and will answer each and every prayer of ours.
"I address an urgent appeal to the earth. I call upon the true disciples of the living God Who reigns in the Heavens; I call upon the true imitators of Christ made Man, the only true Saviour of mankind; I call upon my children, those who are truly devoted to me, those who have offered themselves to me, that I may lead them to My Son, those who have been animated by my spirit. Finally, I call upon the apostles of the latter days, the faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, who have lived despising the world and themselves, in poverty and humility, in silence and contempt, in prayer and mortification, in chastity and union with God, in suffering and unknown to the world. . . to go forth and manifest yourselves as my beloved children; I am with you and within you, so that your Faith may be light which illumines you in these unhappy days, and that your zeal may make you long for the glory and honor of the Most High. Fight, ye children of Light! Combat ye small band that can see, for this is the time of times, the end of ends."
The above excerpts are from the message of the Ever-Virgin Mary, the Immaculate Mother of God as given to Her children at La Salette, France. more on Jeannie's journal..
Redeeming the dreary
When will artists discover the drama and richness of ordinary life? One of the fundamental characteristics of modernism, that cultural shift in the way we see the world, ourselves and our condition, was the celebration of the ordinary – ordinary life, ordinary work, ordinary people and the ...
A musical path out of poverty
A visionary Venezuelan programme for social development is catching on around the world. Public School 129 in Harlem, New York, has a name straight out of the bureaucrat’s bottom drawer, and its street frontage is pretty dreary too. But inside, something beautiful and inspiring is going on. ...
Open yourself to the ineffable
A professor offers important advice to students starting out in life. Recently the managing editor of a Canadian student newspaper, Rebekah Hebbert (a young woman not unfamiliar to MercatorNet readers), sent me a rather daunting request: "If you had one message/piece of advice/warning for ...
Father Charlie's Monday Morning Alka-Seltzer
Addictions in various forms still beset many of us. One can think of addiction to certain sins that have likewise imprisoned many, a fact that has brought many spiritual directors and retreat masters to employ the great Twelve Step program developed ...
Ascension - 2012
Most of the time when we come to Mass we reflect on our souls, on the meaning and purpose of having a soul, on the eventual destiny of our soul, and on how we relate to others and to God because we have a soul. But what about our bodies? What does it mean to have a body? And how should regard our bodies?
The Ascension: The Last Act Of Liberation From The Yoke Of Sin
Benedict XVI dedicated his remarks before praying the Regina Coeli this morning to the Ascension of the Lord, which in many countries is celebrated today, the Sunday following the feast.
