Robert P. Collins, lifelong resident of North Rockland died Sunday August 16 at his home in Stony Point. He was 74. Robert was born August 3, 1935 in Haverstraw to the late John and Anna (Umerick) Collins. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Robert worked for many years as a pipe fitter for Kay Freeze. He was also a Knight of the Haverstraw Council of the Knights of Columbus. Robert is survived by his children David and his wife Maureen of Garnerville, Kathleen and John Halligan of Washington State, Deborah and her husband Chris Farewell of Garnerville, Ann Peterson of Stony Point. His grandchildren Caitlin,Ryan, Kelly, Sean, Derek, Christopher, Kevin, Siobhan and Molly. Robert is predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2004 and his brothers Jack, Charles and William. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, GARNERVILLE. Knights of Columbus will conduct a Memorial Service on Wed. at 7:30 PM. Robert's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial and military honors will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
