Knights of Columbus - Fr Dejaco Council - #5220 at 11186 Licking Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001 US - Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP)
Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP)
Through the Knights of Columbus Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP), councils, assemblies and Squires circles “adopt” one or more seminarians or postulants and provide them with financial assistance and moral support.
RSVP money is used by seminarians and those in religious formation for tuition and books, car insurance and maintenance, travel during vacations, emergency expenditures and other living expenses. Knights provide more than financial support, though. Members write letters to students, sponsor dinners for them, invite them to join the Order and, most importantly, pray for vocations.
Our council is sponsoring 5 seminarians this year. They are :
Eric Andriot St. Vincent Seminary, 300 Purchase Rd. Latrobe, PA 15650
Jason Bertke Pontifical College Josephinum, 7625 North High St.
Columbus, OH 43235
Allan Frederick St, Vincent Seminary, 300 Purchase Rd., PA 15650
Nick Rottman Pontifical College Josephinum, 7625 North High St.
Columbus, OH 43235
Ross Kelsch St. Vincent Seminary, 300 Purchase Rd., Latrobe, PA 15650
Please keep them in your prayers as they learn to carry the Gospel message of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Anyone that is willing is asked to send along a card of support whenever you want. The men are working very hard to give their lives in Service, so it is nice to know that you have people behind you supporting your hard work.
Nobody needs to tell me the value of a work at home mom and wife! However, since these women do not usually generate an actual income, many families do not think the spouse needs life insurance. They figure that the only reason to get covered is to make sure a family can replace actual income. However, they may be missing the true value of the work that mom does, or the security that a policy can provide.
A recent article fromForbesestimates that stay at home moms would be paid salaries over $100,000 if they actually got paid!If your family had to replace the car pool driver, tutor, home maker, cook, shopper, etc. in your family, how hard would that be? Sure, you may be able to get family or friends to pitch in and help, but you cannot rely on free services to replace all the chores that a stay at home parent does.
If the income generating parent is still at work, who will plan meals, go grocery shopping, make sure the kids get to school, help with home work, and keep cob webs off the light fixtures? I assume that some of these services will have to be replaced. This is always a lot more expensive and complex that anybody who is not responsible for these tasks ever thinks!
A Knights of Columbus life insurance policy can help with these expenses.Contact your local field agent today for a free analysis of your family’s needs in the event of death.
