Mission Statement
St. Jude Catholic Church is the main parish church and is located in Louisa, KY. There is a mission church, St. John Neumann in Hode, Martin County and St. Stephen's chapel in Inez. St. Jude is located on the Big Sandy River that seperates Kentucky and West Virginia. The Pastor of the Mission is Fr. Ralph W. Beiting. He is a diocesan priest of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington. He has been ordained for 59 years, 58 of which have been spent in Eastern Kentucky's Appalachian area. At 88 years of age he is still very active in serving the Catholic Church and all of God's people in Appalachia. St. Jude Mission, under the direction of Fr. Beiting, is to bring Christ alive in the families of his Catholic people and to serve Christ in the lives of all Appalachia people no matter what their religious background, their color, their nationality, or political persuasion.
