Youth Minister Certification/Continuing Education Process
Education for the Ministers to the youth of the diocese.
Second Sat. of each month.

The Youth Minister Certification/Continuing Education Program is open to all individuals who worth with the youth of the Church. If you are interested in participating in this process, please download the registration form/application and return it to the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry.

Each class will cost $50. This cost includes all books and materials that will be distributed in the class. Participants can sign up to take specific classes or participate in the entire process. Individuals seeing certification through the diocese will be asked to assemble a portfolio and participate in an interview process. The details of the certification process can be obtained from the OYYAM. Participation in the classes does not require one to participate in the certification process.

If you wish to participate in a class, please mail or e-mail your registration form so that it arrives in the OYYAM no later than the first of the month in which the class you wish to participate is being held. This will insure we have enough materials for all participants. Thank you.

The classes and dates for each class being offered are:

-Session 1 (Jan. 14) – Adolescent Development and Spirituality (Dr. Ruy Bean)

-Session 2 (Feb. 11) – Evangelization to Catechesis (Marcel LeJeune)

-Session 3 (Mar. 11) – Sacred Scripture (Greg Ramzinski)

-Session 4 (Apr. 8) – Trinitarian Theology (Greg Ramzinski)

-Session 5 (May 13) – Christology (Greg Ramzinski)

-Session 6 (June 10) – Ecclesiology (Marcel LeJeune)

-Session 7 (July 8) – Ecumenical Councils (Greg Ramzinski)

-Session 8 (Aug. 12) – Mary and the Saints (Rev. Rene Perez)

-Session 9 (Sep. 9) – Liturgy and Worship (Rev. Jesse Cruz)

-Session 10 (Oct. 14) – Sacraments (Rev. Jesse Cruz)

-Session 11 (Nov. 11) – Catholic Social Teaching & Ecumenism (Dcn. Clarke Cochran)

-Session 12 (Dec. 9) – Programming and Renewing the Vision (Greg Ramzinski)

The YM certification classes will meet in the library at Christ the King School. If you park on the east side of the church, you will need to walk down the sidewalk and enter the school. Walk through the two sets of doors and then take a right and walk through the next set of double doors. Take a left and walk down the hall. You will pass the gym and the cafe. At the next hall, turn right and the library is on your left.

Please bring paper to take notes. You will be given a break to go and get some lunch.
