| Service Projects |
Service projects provide our students with the opportunity to show their commitment to our Catholic faith and to our community. Through participation in these service projects we hope to raise the level of awareness about the needs of others and about the responsibility which we have to respond to those needs. We appreciate your participation and your generosity. For more information on service opportunities please contact Mr. Norton. 2013 Service Projects A few months ago, a small group of STLP students consisting of five sixth graders and one fifth grade student from Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School in Lexington, KY, set out to change the world. They saw the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy and wanted to help relieve some of hurt the storm had left behind, so they started planning. First, they called various organizations such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and National Guard to see what might be needed. They were told primarily clothes and money to purchase the necessities. Then, they asked different members in our school community if they knew anyone who was affected by the storm who wouldn’t mind sharing their story. Since doing their research, these six students have built a website to share these stories as well as advertise their efforts to collect clothes and money. They are sponsoring the follow activities: a clothing drive and monetary donations. They began taking donations on January 23, 20132. All collections will end March 22, 2013. If you would like to donate clothes or money, please mail donations to:
