Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary School at 605 Hill N Dale Drive, Lexington, KY 40503 US - Administrators

Administrators

Becky Brown - Principal   Darren Norton - Assistant Principal
I am thrilled to be back at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School as the principal. Each year brings along a feeling of excitement and anticipation and I anticipate that this is going to be a great year! I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Rank One and Administrative Certification from the University of Kentucky. I have had the privilege of working in Catholic Education for 25 years, 15 years in the Diocese of Lexington and the rest in the Diocese of Covington. I am the aunt of two beautiful girls who live in Louisville and we can be seen frequently at the aquarium. We love it! I was honored to be named the 2007 National Catholic Educational Association’s Principal of the Year. I feel blessed to work with the students, parents and staff of Mary Queen Parish.

I joined Mary Queen School as the Assistant Principal five years ago. I taught high school and middle school English in Day Treatment Programs for alternative students for seven and was a principal for those schools for five years before joining the Mary Queen Staff. I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts in English Education and my Master’s (Rank I) in Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.

I am blessed to have two daughters attending Mary Queen’s middle school and to have my wife working in the Pre-K room as a Teacher’s Assistant. I have a son who attends Lexington Catholic High School. We currently live in Richmond, but spend most of our time here at Mary Queen. I am looking forward to getting to know all our students this year and to take the 8th grade to Washington, D.C. for their 8th Grade Trip.

I am so blessed to be at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School. The atmosphere is so conducive to higher academic achievement and role model behaviors. I have retired from the Fort Knox Department School System after 34 years of service. I transferred to Lexington, KY to be closer to grandchildren and taught one year for Fayette Co. before moving back in the counselor’s office at Mary Queen. I’m beginning my fifth year at MQHR.

I graduated from the University of Kentucky. Therefore, I am very happy to be back in Big Blue Country. I received my Masters and Rank I degrees from WKU. I look forward to another super year at Mary Queen. It’s truly a great place to be.
