Sept. 15, 2011 was a Blue Ribbon Day for Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School! On this day, we were notified that our school was recognized as a 2011 Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary was one of only a small number of private schools from across the nation to be awarded this recognition.
Mary Queen was selected because it is among the nation’s highest performing schools. To be eligible for consideration in 2011, ALL grades tested were required to be the top 15 percent of schools in both reading (English language arts) and mathematics. In previous years, only the highest grade tested was required to meet this standard.
"America's long-term economic prosperity and civic engagement depends on our children receiving a world-class education," said U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. "National Blue Ribbon Schools are committed to accelerating student achievement and preparing students for success in college and careers. Their success is an example for others to follow."
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School has established a tradition of excellence for more than 50 years. We are blessed to receive this prestigious award and our entire community is proud of the efforts and achievements of our teachers and students. Without the support of all, this achievement would not have been possible.
