Our Curriculum

As a Catholic School, our faith is a cornerstone of our curriculum. We encourage students to explore and develop a personal faith relationship with God. Religious instruction is taught every day in every grade as required for all students attending Catholic schools. The teaching of Catholic doctrine, tradition and Christian values is accomplished through religion classes, participation in liturgical celebrations and service projects.
Our curriculum is evaluated on an ongoing basis and adjustments are made to benefit the students. We administer nationally recognized standardized tests to our students and the results of these tests are interpreted and used as an additional measure of identifying strengths and weakness within our curriculum.
We are committed to providing our students with the tools to excel in today’s world. Technology is integrated throughout our curriculum through the use of SMART Boards, in-classroom student workstations, mobile computer labs, and document cameras. Technology integration is also evident in the use of graphing calculators and global positioning technology at the middle school level. Students in grades Pre-K through 8 receive weekly technology instruction.
Mary Queen offers special curriculum for all students in Spanish, Music, Art, Technology, Library, Physical Education, Guidance, and Band. Our Fine Arts Curriculum provides students with the opportunity to dance, sing, play instruments and learn to read and write music. Musical and dramatic productions take place throughout the year. Band is offered to middle school students. All students are invited to sing in the school choir. Art is integrated throughout the curriculum in addition to dedicated specific classes for all grades.
Our ACES program provides challenging curriculum in addition to regular classroom work. A specialized reading remediation program and speech therapy services are also available for students who may need additional assistance.
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary serves students ages 3 through 8th grade. Kindergarten is offered for the full day. Pre-Kindergarten and the Three Year-Old Program are offered for both full and half days.
