DUKE UNIVERSITY TALENT IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
19 students from Mary Queen participated in the 2009 Duke Talent Search. These students qualified for the Duke Talent Search by obtaining a 95% or above on their 2008 Terra Nova.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES BY MARY QUEEN'S BATTLE OF THE BOOKS TEAMS
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary competed against 5 other Diocesan schools in the annual Battle of the Books competition on Wednesday, May 6th.
Our 2nd and 3rd grade team (Brian Banahan, Jordan Gal, Patrick Schneider, Elizabeth Yeager, alternate: Leni Broady) took 1st place!
The 4th and 5th grade team (Grace Banahan, Corie Jones, Matthew Hayes, Abbi King, alternates: Chandler Hendren and Rachel Yeager) took 2nd place!
The 6th through 8th grade team (Zach Estus, Emma King, Arden Barnes and Renee Brown) also took 1st place!
Congratulations to the Battle of the Books Teams and special thanks to Mrs. Tibe, the teachers and staff and the parent volunteers for all of their work with the Battle of the Books program!
Show Off Your Panther Pride!
More and more of them are popping up around Lexington. The new MQHR auto decals are in and are a great way to show off your Panther Pride. They will be available for purchase at various MQHR School events through out the year at a cost of $3 each or two for $5. All proceeds will go to the TEACHERS WISH FUND to provide special items for the classrooms that the teachers can use to enhance the educational experience for their students.
