Did you know that you can recycle newspaper, magazines, shopping catalogs, office and school papers and mail 24 hours, 7 days a week at our Parish? Did you also know that we earn money for paper dropped off at our green and yellow Abitibi paper retriever bins? This is an easy way for you to recycle your paper and help us raise money for worthwhile projects benefitting our school. We now have two bright green and yellow containers called paper retrievers now located in the lower parking lot of the church property for your convenience. What can be recycled? Catalogs, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, fax paper, notebooks and folders. In the school parking lot, we will be collecting aluminum cans to recycle. Your Home and School Association takes another initiative to help our environment and to raise money for the educational mission of Maternity B.V.M. School. We are in partnership with Penn Treaty Metal Company. They will place an outdoor container for the sole purpose or recycling aluminum cans. T he container will be located in the school lot near the school trash area. In order to protect the children from bees, please rinse out the cans with water and deposit them in the large outdoor container. Penn Treaty Metal Co. will pay the Home and School Assoc. $0.30 per lb as per pickup. The more we recycle, the more goes back to enrich the educational mission of our school children.
