Founded on the principals of charity, the Society is an organization of lay people who are trying to live their beliefs in Jesus Christ by sharing and caring, responding to local needs and conditions, and relieving the misery of the poor.
I was hungry and you gave me food
The 46 conferences gave out 400,000 pounds of food. The District Council's two dining rooms provided 285,646 meals and their pantries gave out food to another 20,000 people.
Disaster Aid
The members, conferences and districts gave $24,338 in disaster aid and in the last two years, secured a $41,573 grant from national council to help hurricane victims.
San Jose Mission, Dover
The San Jose Mission Migran Program helped more than 9,200 people with $239,200 worth of food and clothing.
Center of Hope, St. Petersburg
About 88 rooms for transitional housing for the homeless and working poor were provided, along with meals and vocational training.
Home visits
Members made 9,640 home visits helping more than 26,500 people.
FreeMeds Programs
The FreeMeds Programs helped 700 people receive free medication valued at more than $2 million from pharmaceutical companies.
Thrift stores
Six thrift stores gave out $498,133 in clothing and furniture to those in need.
Time, talent and treasure
The 871 active members donated $101,192, worked more than 123,517 hours helping those in need and drove more than 177,990 miles doing so.
