Ministries of Mercy - Food & Clothing at 6363 9th Avenue North, Saint Petersburg, FL 33710 US - Santa Maria Mission in Need of Food and Donations

Even before the first Mass was celebrated at the Santa Maria Mission in December of 2001, Fr. Robert Morris, then the pastor of St. Mary Parish in Tampa and now the Vicar General of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, recognized the tremendous need located within his parish boundaries in an area known as "Suit Case City" in north central Hillsborough County.

Since ithe beginning of this out reach effort, mission coordinator, Ondina Hernandez, has worked tirelessly developing programs and services while seeking volunteers, donations, and support from the local community.  As the mission has grown, so has the number of people who have needed help.  On this bright and clear day in mid-October Ondina shares that they saw about 200 people this morning.  And, with the numbers of people seeking food continuing to grow Ondina is looking for additional support to meet the needs.
