The History of the North Carolina Columbiettes
In the Fall of 1991, Margaret Wayman, a transplanted member from St. John Neumann Auxiliary in Florida, started the idea of having Columbiette auxiliaries in North Carolina. She placed notices in the Bulletins of the five area churches and they responded positively. In March 1992, the Bishop Greco Columbiettes Auxiliary was formed and then two years later Holy Cross Auxiliary joined. Three more auxiliaries joined in 1999: Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Father James E. Waters, and Sons of Mother Seton. In 2000, St. Matthews was formed and then Good Shepherd. In 2002, St. Vincent de Paul, Thomas A. Williams, and Holy Angels joined.
