The Catholic Community of St. Paul's Newman Center serving campus ministry at NDSU, challenges the secular and pagan mystique of the emerging culture of the 21 century with the truths and values in the library of God's revelation. We profess that both Old and New Testaments are the living word of God the Father's Son, Jesus Christ, gifted in and through the Holy Spirit, through two thousand years of the history of saints and sinners. With emphasis on Jesus' resurrection, abiding presence and action in and through the Sacramental life of the Church He founded, we firmly believe that truth does not lie solely within the confines of the human heart, mind, and personality alone, but, is a gift revealed under God's terms and not humankind's. We, therefore, strive to live the Gospel in an age which: 1) refuses to consider the human person as little more than an advanced biological animal; 2) that denies there are direct connections among discipleship, the commandments, and natural law; 3) that because of the supremacy of feelings, pretends sin is not a reality in the world of either persons or society.  In the 21st centruy, billions of persons do not confess the way, truth, and life in Jesus, and one religion is judged as just as true and good or peace loving as any other. An epidemic of moral problems among young adults include excessive alcohol abuse; illcit drug use; pre and or extra-marital sex; that marriage can be redefined against the divine intent as between one man and one woman until physical death; and amidst rampant poverty and greed there is no stewardship of time, talent, and treasure except in the pursuit of self-fulfillment. We, therefore, try to live the gospel understanding that the appeal of Life in Christ is universal once the grace of conversion has been given through the Holy Spirit by evangelization and witness. We witness against anyone's relativistic personalized religion, and that of the media's and the dark side of internet culture. We live the gospel through the teachings of Christ the Lord of time and timelessness. In this we are guided by the representaive of Christ on Earth, the Holy Father and Bishops in communion with him, because revelation for the Catholic Christian is from both Scripture and Tradition.
