Necrology for Saint Luke Church - Updated January 2012

Our pastor, Father Bush speaks often of the Coporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.  One of those Spiritual Works of Mercy is to pray for the dead.  We have established an online necrology--a list of people and the dates of their death--of Saint Luke's parishioners and their family and friends as well as clergy that have been special to us. It is still in its infancy but what we have at present is available here. To access it, simply click on the cross to the side of this paragraph.

As a start, it is sorted by month of death, and then alphabetically within that month. To have a name added, please contact the parish office by email at:
nicholasville@catholicweb.com. If you see any errors, please let us know by the same method.

Below we have included the "Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great."  Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1,000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said.  The prayer was extended to include living sinners as well:

"Eternal Father, I offer thee the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.  Amen."
