Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women was originally established in 1948.  The parish celebrated it’s 75th anniversary last year and serves 1200 families from Melbourne, Palm Bay and North Melbourne.   The Council is very active in serving their church and community.  Recently they redecorated the Blessed Mother’s corner in church, providing  a beautiful place to honor her.  The Council continues to collect and distribute toiletries to the Women’s Shelter at the Salvation Army and area nursing homes.  Prolife activities are important to the Council.  Annual fundraisers start with the Christmas Raffle, Craft and Bake Sale and end with our Spring Fashion Show.  Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women meetings are held in the Parish Hall the first Wednesday after the first Sunday of each month at 11 a.m., followed by lunch, social time and a program.  Their Crafts Group meets the third Thursday in the Parish Hall at 7 p.m.  Everyone is welcome – we’d love to see you there.  Wishing everyone all of God’s Blessings…

St. John the Evangelist Council of Catholic Women was established March 24, 2009 and is the newest council in Southern Deanery.  St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community was established September 8, 2001, and currently has 1950 registered families. We are located west of I-95 on Stadium Parkway, Viera.  We have a membership of 25 enthusiastic women who are anxious to become active in Council.  We are building our Council on the three S’s precepts: Spirituality, Social and Service.  Currently we are establishing our first Commission – Church.   In early October we are hosting a Day out with Mary at Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica where we will tour the Basilica, gift shop and pray the Rosary in the outside RosaryGarden.  All women of the parish are invited.  A membership tea will follow later in October and all women of the parish will receive a printed invitation.  To grow together in our faith and spirituality, beginning September 4 we will start attending monthly first Friday morning Mass.  All members are encouraged to attend.  Since our main church is yet to be built, we will be focusing our attention to that area of concern.  Our meetings are held every third Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM.
