Orlando Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (ODCCW) at Central Florida, Orlando, FL 32802 US - A SAFE HAVEN FOR NEWBORNS

A SAFE HAVEN FOR NEWBORNS

A Safe Haven for Newborns began in response to the tragedy of newborn abandonments. It was started by Nick Silverio in memory of his wife, a member of CCW, who was killed in a car accident. Safe Haven presents a viable option to a mother or father who may, in a moment of desperation, make a disatrous choice. This is a win-win situation for all involved: a child’s life is saved; a mother or father is saved from a lifetime of guilt and anguish; and the hopes of a family waiting to adopt a child are fulfilled.

Safe Haven partners with hospitals, fire rescue stations, schools, youth organizations, religious organizations, civic groups, corporations, government and individuals to promote public awareness of A Safe Haven for Newborns. So many teenagers are unaware of the resources available to them!
