Orlando Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (ODCCW) at n/a, Orlando, FL 32802 US - WESTERN DEANERY
|
Western Deanery Council of Catholic Women is located in Polk County. We have a very energetic group of fine ladies from young to seniors who are young at heart, and so happy working with the Council of Catholic Women. Most of our affiliations meet from September through May. Holy Spirit in Lake Wales serves many retirement communities and has a very active group of Winter Visitors who do more at this church than their parish up North. They have many "fun" raisers to be able to carry on the needs of the Lake Wales Community and Parish, such as "Bake-less bake sales. St. Joseph Guild in Winter Haven enjoys the ladies who are living in Florida during the Winter Months. They meet so many new friends and also have many events during the year to serve one another. They sent durable medical supplies to the Philippines. The ladies made adult bibs, aprons and wash clothes which were donated to parishioners in need as well as Hospice. St. John Neumann, located in the far South corner of Lakeland, has less than 1000 families in their parish. They sponsor a family fun event called "Santa Breakfast" with the cost of only $1.00 per family. Picture with Santa is taken, and a famous pancake breakfast served. They also have their annual popular Chocolate Feast each year. St. Joseph in Lakeland is the oldest parish in Lakeland. It is located downtown and many years ago it was the only Catholic Church in Lakeland. Some parishioners started attending many years ago, but moved south or north of Lakeland and still attend, because they love the parish so much. This group of hard working ladies is noted for their famous Valentine Card Party. They sponsor a Thanksgiving Breakfast on Thanksgiving Day, and have many fun raisers to support the needy of the community, especially serving meals at Talbot House. Resurrection Church in Lakeland is the largest parish with 2220 families. Their Annual Silver Tea at Christmas time benefits a charity each year. They provide the Migrant families with school supplies each year, and have the annual Anniversary Mass and Reception for couples married 5, 10, up to 50 years and over. They work together with the Knights of Columbus in projects to benefit the community and families of the Parish. We would love you to join our Council of Catholic Women in one of these parishes. You will be empowered, educated and receive much spiritual growth, plus you will have so many beautiful friends and never be lonely again. have been truly blessed to be friends of the ladies from the many affiliations in all our cities. I have received much love, support and compassion for all in Council as well as in our Community and I want to share it with you.
