Our Lady of Fatima at 184 Breakneck Road, Highland Lakes, NJ 07422 US - Our Parish History
Our Parish History
Beginning in 1949, a Summer mission was begun with Sunday Mass offered in the Highland Lakes clubhouse. The present church was built in 1954 and Bishop Navagh established Our Lady of Fatima as a parish in 1965. Formerly it was a mission of St.Monica's church, Sussex. Monsignor Christian D. Haag and Father Aloysius J. Busch served the people of the mission church. In 1965, the newly established parish's boundaries reached to most of Vernon Township. The new parish started with two churches:its own and St. Francis de Sales mission in McAfee. Father Busch was appointed Our Lady of Fatima's pastor.

Our Parish Mission
We the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, declare it to be our mission to live in faithful relationship with the Father and through the power of the Holy Spirit, give witness and living testimony to the mission of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
We ask that Mary, the Mother of our Lord and our Mother, who aided the beginnings of the Church by her prayers, may now intercede with her Son for each of us...helping us to grow in faith, hope, and love.
We as Catholic Christians, are called to make visible Christs presence among His people. We commit ourselves to journey through life striving to become more like Jesus in our words and deeds, to be His disciples.
We exist not for ourselves, but for the sake of others, generating new life and hope. In His name and united in his belief, we reach out to others.
We become the heart of Jesus to love others, His ears to listen to others, His mouth to teach as He did, and His feet to spread His Good News as we journey through life.
As we proclaim our love by ministering to and serving others, we build community. And as one, our parish community worships and celebrates. through many, we are one body because we share in the One Bread and One Cup.We the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, declare it to be our mission to live in faithful relationship with the Father and through the power of the Holy Spirit, give witness and living testimony to the mission of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We ask that Mary, the Mother of our Lord and our ...
