Mrs. Dotty LewisMrs. Dotty Lewis was born at Fort Knox, KY long, long ago! Her father rejoined the Air Force after serving in WW II and she spent the next 20 years living in various regions of the US and in 3 foreign countries: Japan, Pakistan, and England. After graduating from high school in England, she attended Ursuline College, a small Catholic school in Louisville, KY. After that year, she remained in England until her father's tour was completed. That fall, she enrolled in the University of Kentucky where she met her future husband on a blind date. She and Johnny Mac married in February of 1971 and moved to his hometown of Middlesboro, KY, where they lived for almost 20 years. Mrs. Lewis received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in history from the University of Kentucky in 1970, and a Masters in Education from Union College with an emphasis on American Literature. Her teaching experience includes 10 years of middle school and 21 years at the high school level. In 1990, Mrs. Lewis and her husband relocated to Paintsville, KY due to a change in her husband's work. She became employed by the Paintsville Independent School System and taught English and history there for 18 years. She retired from public education in 2008. Mrs. Lewis enjoys cooking, tending to her flower garden, traveling, reading, Shakespeare, and spending time with her family. She is delighted to be a faculty member at Our Lady of the Mountains School and looks forward to continue to work with the students, parents and other faculty members.
