Our Lady appeared at Fatima in 1917 with a message not just for individual Catholics but for the world. She outlined the grave consequences in world events if men did not convert, pray, and do penance: Communist Russia would spread its errors worldwide, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. Many would be martyred, the Holy Father would suffer, and a chastisement would annihilate several nations.

‘The Church is honored and grateful’

Congratulations to the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property and America Needs Fatima, as well as to all the volunteers who contributed to the various Rosary Rallies in honor of the ninetieth anniversary of the Fatima miracle of the sun.

Your strength of faith, your vitality in spirit and your honoring of the Blessed Virgin Mary provide a true witness of hope and recognition of the many blessings God showers upon us every day. For that, the Church is honored and grateful.

Please be assured of my continued prayers and support as you celebrate this experience of God’s love and embark on this journey of witness to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Most Reverend Arthur J. Serratelli, S.T.D., S.S.L., D.D.
Bishop of Paterson, N.J.

The Miracle of the Sun was actually seen by 70,000 people (including the secular media)  in the pouring rain until the sun came down in a dancing motion while the water evaporated.
