Mrs. Terry's Kindergarten at 405 Third Street, Paintsville, KY 41240 US - Home

Welcome to Our Website

Developing good character is a continuing theme in our kindergarten class. Everything we do revolves around learning to respect peers and authority figures, kindness, cooperation and personal responsibility. Above all, we strive to be more like Christ each day. Inside this framework, we study a full range of school subjects. Every subject is exciting in kindergarten. Music, poetry and games are a part of all that we do, from reading to math to science. Special science topics covered throughout the year include plants and animals. This involves a trip to the Johnson County Outdoor classroom to see these things up close. In the spring, we study the life cycle of the butterfly, in which we watch caterpillars change into butterflies right here in our classroom. Our social studies curriculum focuses first on becoming a good citizen, then progresses to teach us about our country, our world and the people who live in it. This ties in well with our mission projects. At Christmas, we prepare a shoebox full of toys for the charity, Samaritan’s Purse. This is sent to a child in a third world country. We also collect canned goods to donate to a local food pantry.  In all that we do, we try and remember to think of others before ourselves.
