Miss Lorna's Preschool at 405 Third Street, Paintsville, KY 41240 US - Miss Lorna Rice

Miss Lorna Rice

Miss Lorna has been part of the pre-school program at OLM since 1993. She started as a teacher’s aide and has gradually taken over the leadership of the successful pre-school program. Miss Lorna has earned her CDA and takes many hours of professional development each year in order to stay current with a variety of educational and child care issues.  Recent topics include brain development and addressing behavioral problems.  Ms. Lorna has 3 children who live in the Eastern Kentucky area. Her daughter, Jeri, resides in Paintsville. Her son, Adam, graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently teaching 7/8 grade history at Paintsville High School. In addition to his teaching assignment, he also coaches basketball and tennis. Their son Curtis is a senior at EKU, with a concentration in Graphic Design. Miss Lorna has 2 dogs, Oscar and Max, whom she adopted from the Pikeville Animal Shelter.  She also has a very old cat named Frisky.
Miss Lorna loves teaching at OLM, and looks forward to another very successful (and busy!) school year. She especially enjoys  watching her students continue to grow and develop into fine, upstanding middle school students as they remain part of the OLM family.  Miss Lorna states "  I feel honored and privileged to have the opportunity to work with our students and to teach at such a wonderful, impressive school."
