Jim Gollakner, 65, died on Friday, October 2, 2009.
He was born in Alpha, Michigan, on May 20, 1944, to Clement James Gollakner Sr. and Ann (Kowalski). He worked as a manager for Motorola in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and moved to this area from Coral Springs, FL, in 1999 and began working with Merilat in Ocala, FL, retiring in 2005.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Nada Gollakner of Beverly Hills, FL; daughters, Rania Gollakner of Eagan, Minnesota and Jayna Gollakner of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Doris Graffa of Apache Junction, Arizona, Karen Keylon of Livonia, Michigan and Nancy Hewitt and husband Dee of Frankfort, Michigan.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a Memorial Service of Remembrance following at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
Memorial contributions may be made for research in memory of Jim Gollakner to A.L.S. Research, 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fero Funeral Home.
