Shane Paul Schippers, 37, of Dunnellon, died Monday October 26, 2009, as a result of an airplane crash near Benavides, Texas.
He was born in St. Petersburg, FL, and came here 26 years ago from there. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a General Contractor and was Vice President of Schippers Marine Contractors, Inc. He was a member of the Florida Marine Contractors Association.
He is survived by his wife Heidi Schippers, his children Austin, Shane and Shaylee Schippers, Mother Sharon Cox-Estep, Maternal Grandfather Norman Hamill, Maternal Grandmother Charlotte Greenough of Homosassa, sister Denise Dicks, stepsister Stephanie Cox-Wolinski, stepbrother Jim Lightbody and God Father Kirby Rohrer.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 3rd, at 3:00 PM at Gulf to Lake Church in Crystal River.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shane’s name are requested to the Covenant Children’s Home (352) 489-2565. Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River is assisting the family with arrangements.
