Abbot John Pereira left the Abbey on Thursday 10 September 2009 to attend the General Chapter Meeting of the Congregation of the Annunciation, which is being held in Germany from Saturday 12 to Thursday 17 Septermber 2009.  Abbot John will return to Mount St Benedict on Friday 18 September. 

The meeting will be attended by all the Superiors and some delegates from the monasteries in the Congregation to which Mount St Benedict belongs.  Abbot President Ansgar Schmidt from Germany will conduct the proceedings. 

These Chapter meetings are held every four years and serve to keep the monasteries united and connected with each other.

As the meeting proceeds, Abbot John will communcate matters of interest to the Mount St Benedict community.
