At our Annual Convention, the PBDCCW voting body approves resolutions to be incorporated as part of our council year. These resolutions are then mailed to our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI; the National Council of Catholic Women’s President; FCCW President; the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops; the Diocesan and Deanery moderators; the Deanery and Affiliation presidents; the Pastors of Palm Beach Diocese, and the Diocesan Council Board Members. The Diocesan Board Members will empower the implementation and support of the resolutions. On behalf of the Palm Beach Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, we thank you for your continued support and prayers.
2009-10 resolutions are to pray for the canonization of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, and the Dignity of Women; and affiiliations are asked to encourage this effort whenever and wherever possible.
Resolution is defined in the dictionary as “a formal expression of the opinion or will of a deliberative or legislative body or other group.” The resolutions we vote on at our conventions are a public statement of our beliefs, our purpose and our commitment to our mission statement. They are statements that we have the ability, within our organization, to act upon. They represent a statement of the majority, voted on by the delegates of the convention.
