| Bless us O Lord and these Thy Gifts |
Take A Sister to Lunch, a way to thank and honor our religious sisters. The day features good food and fun as Council members and our religious sisters share their experiences in education, health care, spiritual events. Our religious sisters work tirelessly throughout the Diocese of Palm Beach in various capacities and PBDCCW is grateful for their hardwork and support.
This is a yearly event enjoyed by all. Thanks to all of you who join us each year from 11am-2pm at a local restaurant to honor our religious sisters. All of the sisters (100+ in all) seem to more than enjoy the day, reconnecting with old friends and connecting with new ones. Plan to join us this year !! and even "sponsor" a sister to attend.

A Poem, dedicated to our beloved nuns, by Avalon McGann
BRIDE OF CHRIST
When we were little you helped us understand,
with holy cards, medals and stories grand.
Next came our ABC’s, CD and Math.
Our ears burned if we didn’t take a bath.
Our penmanship soared or sunk and God
help us if we were a habitual flunk!
Teenage years, full of woes. Ridicule came easy.
We became foes. Sassy and brassy we did appear,
petulant and snide we continued to sneer.
Adulthood arrived as did common sense. No more
lukewarm sitting on the fence. Off the pedestal you
did fall but rose up in friendship to one and all.
For those of us who did not attend parochial school,
choir ministry, religious ed, RCIA , you were cool!
In hospitals, clinics, pregnancy centers you shared the
the body and blood of Christ and the works and word
of God. Applaud! Applaud!
We think back now on all the years we shared, deep
down we knew you truly cared. On our faith journey
you were our guide, your eyes still shine with unabashed
pride.
To us you’ll remain a favorite memory but to Christ, His
young bride you will always be. Thank you sister for all
you did and still do. We owe you so much, but what can
we say? We wish you inner peace and happiness forever
and a day!
