Pinellas Hope, a program of Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg is a temporary shelter that assists 250 street homeless men and women by providing them with emergency shelter.
It's considered a shelter ministry and part of the Ministries of Mercy, an initiative begun in 2006 by Bishop Robert N. Lynch of the Diocese of St. Petersburg to support and foster ministries that serve the poor, suffering, and marginalized. The shelter opened its doors December 1, 2007 having helped more than 1000 individuals since.
At Pinellas Hope, residents have the opportunity to sleep undisturbed, take a daily shower, utilize on-site laundry facilities, and have a warm, comforting meal each day. They also have access to the following services:
A tent, lock box, mat, and sleeping bag
Bathroom facilities where they can shower
A warm, comforting meal each day
Light refreshments
Assistance creating an Independent Living Plan
AA and NA Groups
