Volunteer Opportunities with Karmanos Cancer Institute Dear Friends: Karmanos Cancer Institute Hospice is looking for volunteers who can share some time to help others in their community. Hospice Volunteers provide valuable support to patients and their families in a variety of ways. Some volunteers help out by visiting with patients while others choose to work on special projects, run occasional errands or lend their talents and skills. Volunteer opportunities exist for adults and teens. Currently we have a special need for volunteers who would like to: •Sew patient gowns •Make friendship/birthday bracelets for patients •Provide animal assisted activities with a certified pet •Offer a musical activity All volunteers can expect to receive the training, guidance and support they need to make a huge difference. Our next volunteer training session is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 11th, 6- 8 PM. The four week training program will be held at the Institute's Community Service Center located in Southfield, MI.
