Couples who wish to be married at Prince of Peace must contact Msgr. Bass at least six months in advance of the date. Participation in a PreMarriage Program is mandatory. For more information, contact the Worship Office, 248-681-1410. Good planning is essential for a good wedding ceremony. The more involved you are in the preparations of your wedding ceremony, the more satisfied you will be with the outcome. Be involved. Be ready to listen and ask questions when you do not understand. Both bride and groom need to be active participants in the planning. Wedding dates need to be booked at least six months ahead of time. Recent copies of your baptismal certificates are required. As soon as possible, tell the priest whether there was any previous marriage. It is also imperative to meet with the music director. The parish team is there to help you and answer your questions. They are experts, and so listen attentively to what they have to say. If one of the party is non-Catholic, also let the priest know; Attend the class(es). Remember that this is a lifelong commitment that you are entering into. Finally; find out what is the policy of the church in regards to photos, flowers, unity candle and confetti. Copyright 2005.
