Important High School Dates
CJ's important dates:
December 8, applications are due in by this date to apply for the Catholic Leadership scholarship.
December 15, priority admissions, this guarantees a place and class selection. Any application received after this date will be accepted if space is available.
Alter High School
All applications are due by January 31. For class selection it is on a first come first served basis. Class size and sections are based on the number of applications received by this date. Any applications received after this date will be considered on space available.
High School Placement Test (HSPT) Prep Class
Due to the overwhelming interest, we have added one more class. The additional class will be this Saturday, November 7 from 1 – 5 p.m. (As of November 3, I have 10 spots left). Cost is $35. Students receive a booklet with test-taking strategies, become familiar with the test format, and have access to two complete practice tests using Peterson’s software in our Taylor College Resource Center. If interested, families can call the Admissions Office at 428-5394.
Placement Test (HSPT) at Alter
Saturday, November 21, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students must register for the test no later than November 18. Register online at the Alter website. Students can also register at Open House. All materials provided including a pizza lunch. Extended time and a reader are available for students with current IEP, ISP or 504 plans. Students who need accommodations must submit the plan to Alter no later than November 14.
Students may take the test at any Archdiocesan High School on this date and have their test scores sent to up to three schools. Regardless of where they take the test, students must be sure to indicate on their answer sheet that they want their scores sent to Alter if they wish to be considered for an academic scholarship.
Visitation Days
Eighth grade students are encouraged to spend a day. For more information and to register, families should visit the Alter website. If students cannot visit on a day reserved for their school, we invite them to contact us to arrange an alternate date for a visit.
