*  Your children are beginning to read!  Keep reading the packets over and over that I am sending home, and look over your site words.  Repetition and praise are the keys to helping them feel comfortable and confident.

Religion
Religion is a very important part of the curriculum and will be woven into each subject daily.  During the month of November,
*Students will continue to learn to make the Sign of the Cross correctly
*Students will pray The Glory Be.
*Students learn about more Saints.
FAITH FIRST Chapter 3, 4, 5:  God Gives Us the Earth, Plants, Animals, and People
Students will learn why we need to be thankful for what we have.

Math
Weekly Focus:  Continue Chapter 4  Use Numbers to 10
Weekly Objectives: 
The students will name, recognize, and count the numerals 6, 7,8,9, and 10 using concrete objects and illustrations.
The students will count, recognize, represent, and name numerals 6 through 10 using concrete objects and illustrations.
The students will use one-to-one correspondence and counting to compare sets and determine which has more than, less than, or whether the sets are the same/equal.
The students will order numbers from 1 to 10 in sequence using illustrations.
The students will use ordinal numbers to describe the position of an object in a row.


     Each day, as a class, the children will continue to do the calendar, graph the weather, count the number of days in school on a chart and with money. Students will answer a daily question on a graph and we will discuss the results.  Students will estimate and then try to count the number of items in a jar...Thank you for your help with this item. They will learn to recognize coins and their value using a song.  They will talk about odd and even numbers, skip count by 2's, 5's and 10's.  In centers, the children continue to explore using cubes, geo boards, patterns, puzzles, and tracing.

Science and Health
     Science will be woven into many parts of our day that will include discussions on the weather, seasons, animals, senses and our body parts. God has given us so many wonderful things to discover and discuss.  Each month we will have  specific themes/units of study.  This week we will learn about squirrels, seals, sloths, and snakes, storms, and the sun.  We will also talk about our five senses.


Social Studies
In Social Studies we are continuing to work on school rules and good manners.  Students are learning to be  good listeners, to share, to raise their hand, say please and thank you, help others, take turns and put things away.
Students are learning The Pledge of Allegiance
Students are learning the days of the week
Students are learning the months of the year
The month of November is a great time to learn about Pilgrims, Indians and Thanksgiving.
We will continue to learn about living in the country and harvesting.
We will discuss where food comes from and how it gets to the grocery store.
We will continue to discuss and observe the change of the seasons.
We will discuss how animals and people get ready for winter.
