God our Father, shepherd and guide,
look with love on Pope Benedict,
your servant,
the pastor of your Church.
May his word and example
inspire and guide the Church,
and may he,
and all those entrusted to his care,
come to the joy of everlasting life.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.

grant that the young people from our diocese
whom you call to enter
the priesthood,
diaconate or
religious life,
may have the generosity
to answer your call,
so that those who need your help
may find it.
