The first Mass was celebrated in Mt. Ephraim on Sunday, May 3rd, 1936 by the Revend James A. Bulfin, then pastor of St. Rose Church at Haddon Heights. In the course of time it became apparent that the number of Catholics residing in and around Mt. Ephraim was increasing. The newly erected Sacred Heart Church was dedicated by Archbishop of Camden, Celestine J. Damiano, on August 23, 1964. Our parish community continues to thrive today under the spiritual guidance of Fr. Robert J. Dunphy. We offer numerous choices for anyone who wishes to participate in the spiritual or social events of the parish through the different organizations. There is no denying the welcoming atmosphere of this parish family. We extend the invitation to everyone.
