St. Anthony has a scrips program that has risen quite a bit of money for the church and school (over $10,000 last year alone for the church). It is a very simple program, you buy gift certificates at face value and the program makes a percentage of the sales (anywhere from 1% to 19%). We sell gift certificates after each mass on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. When you come to mass they are the smiling faces you see each week with the black box in front of them. We stock Kohl’s, Kroger, Johnny’s Toys, and various gas and restaurant gift certificates. We need helpers to sell these certificates at the masses. You do not need to be a school family to help with this fundraiser, especially since it benefits the church as much as the school. We like to have 5 or 6 families to cover each mass, that way you would only be selling every 5th or 6th week. We are in desperate need of people to help. The people who currently sell the gift certificates have been doing so for the last 7 years and we would like to see some new faces. We make up the schedule for a 6-month period and everyone is great about working together to switch with other families if they have something going on the weekend they are scheduled.
