How is the Church in Western Washington Funded?

By YOU! Financial support for the work of the Church in Western Washington comes maily from the people who make up the church. A parish is financially supported by its parishioners through the weekly envelope collection at the Offertory of the Mass. The Archdiocese meets part of its annual financial need by assessing each parish a certain percentage of the Sunday envelope collection and other income, and through the Annual Catholic Appeal. The parish assessments are part of the annual parish operating budget. The Annual Catholic Appeal gives each Catholic family or individual an opportunity to support the work of the wider Church by returning a portion of what God has given them through their pledge. One person or parish could not do this alone. This is a united effort: to be in union with one Church, one body of Christ, and one in communion with each other.
