WHAT IS PEER MINISTRY? |
The Youth Ministry Office of St. Patrick Catholic Church invites you to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. The various Peer Ministry teams offer you the opportunity to deepen your spirituality with other committed High School students. As a Peer Minister, you will have the opportunity to be an active part of the parish community by being a witness to your peers as well as adults. Applications are taken from April thru July of each year. What will I get out of Peer Ministry? As a Peer Minister you will be with fellow students who are seeking, just like you, a way to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The rewards that you will reap are a group of peers, from over ten (10) high schools, who you probably otherwise would never have gotten a chance to meet in a different setting. Within Peer Ministry you can feel safe from peer pressure, develop leadership and organizational skills that will help in college, and broaden your horizons based upon the individuals that you get to know. You will build friendships that will last a lifetime. In many of the things you do, you will find personal growth and satisfaction. By sharing your faith journey with others, you will see the fruits of the seeds you plant in your role as a Peer Minister. Peer Ministry had open enrollment from May 18th thru August 1st and is now closed to new members until the Winter Retreat in February 2008.
