St. Paul Catholic School at 1755 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN 46385 US - Middle School Service League

Middle School Service League

It is our firm belief that as a Catholic school, service must be an essential part of our program and curriculum. For this reason, the middle school has an active Service League that allows students to participate in quarterly service projects, both during the school day and after school.

The 6th grade has adopted St. Agnes Senior Day Care Center; the 7th grade holds quarterly bingos at the local nursing home; and each 8th grader has a “buddy” at Opportunity Enterprise with whom they visit one each quarter. The 8th grade also serves at Café Manna when the Valparaiso University students are on vacation.

For the last two years, all Saint Paul students, from kindergarten through middle school, have collected money and needed supplies for the Christian Appalachian Project. Truckloads of clothing, food and school items have been taken to Mount Vernon, Kentucky, and distributed throughout the Appalachian area. Through these various activities, we are hoping to provide our students opportunities to truly live, not merely repeat, the words of Jesus: “Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do to Me.”
