St. Sebastian Parish at 311 Siebert Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 US - Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

The significant role of special ministers of the Eucharist is demonstrated most clearly in the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist. The very large numbers demand the assistance of these auxiliary ministers. It is also proper that those who are prevented from being present at the community’s celebration due to sickness, disability or advanced age should be refreshed with the Eucharist. In this way, they may realize that they are united in prayer with our parish family. The Eucharist is taken to individual homes as well as to the Catholic residents of both Corbett Court and Towne North Towers Apartments. Each year, an evening of recollection is provided for the Eucharistic Ministers so that they may pause in their busy lives to take account of the responsibility they have accepted and to grow in their love for the Eucharist. Those who serve as Eucharistic Ministers must meet certain criteria and are appointed by the Pastor with the approval of the Bishop.
