Parish Share Plus Program
|
Each year we, along with the other parishes in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, conduct our Parish Share Campaign to raise funds to aid in the Charitable and Administrative work of the Diocese. The Diocese supports, women, children and men in crisis through Catholic Charities, free clinics, programs for handicap children and adults, and hospital chaplins. The Parish Share Plus Campaign raises money for training seminarians and lay ministers, providing programs to support marriage and the family and parenting. Feeding the hungry and providing shelter for the homeless are also part of this most needed program.
You can make a donation to the Parish Share Plus Campaign at any time by indicating on your check that the donation is for parish share. You may also choose to make a pledge and be billed monthly. All monies collected for the Parish Share Plus Campaign above the Diocesan assessment of $154,000 (for 2008) stays in the parish free of the diocesan assessment of 17.5%. This is an excellent way to maximize your giving and help with the capital and savings needs of your parish.
Blue Envelopes
The Plus part of the Parish Share Plus Campaign is an extra blue envelope that is contained in your envelope packet or auto withdrawn from your account by Faith Direct. The donations made to the Blue Envelope are also free of the diocesan assessment of 17.5%; therefore, all monies donated stay in the parish. Each year a different project is designated to receive this money. For the last two years the renovation of the church vestibule and entrances has been designated. This money is deposited with the Diocesan Savings and Loan in an interest bearing account until enough money is raised to complete the project.
