Catholic Men's Fellowship

Altar Servers - assist with daily and Sunday Mass as well as other various liturgical and sacramental celebrations
 
Altar Society – keeps areas of the church and chapel clean and cares for the linens
 
Armata Bianca – prays the rosary for the unity of the family and work to imitate the Holy Family. This is an international prayer group of children (under the age of 12) and adults.
 
Catholic Men’s Fellowship – gathers weekly on Saturdays from 7:30 -8:30 a.m. focusing on sharing faith through friendship, prayer and fraternity
 
Children’s Liturgy of the Word – proclaims age appropriate scripture for children ages 4 – 4th grade during the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses
 
Divine Mercy Ministry – meets Thursday evenings at 6:30 to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet
 
Ecumenical Commission – creates ways for our parish to join other Christian Churches to express our common faith in Christ and seek unity
 
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion – brings Eucharist to homebound parishioners and gives Eucharist during mass
 
Faith Formation – helps youth ages 1st – 8th grade develop an understanding of Jesus, the Word, community life and service by participating in Tuesday evening (4:45-6:00) or Sunday morning classes (9:00 – 10:15). Catechists, clerical staff and aides are needed.
 
Finance Council – acts in an advisory role in matters of finances with a goal of achieving and maintaining the financial health of the parish.
 
Funeral Planning Ministry – assists people in planning the funeral Mass of their deceased loved one
 
Health & Wellness Ministry (Parish Nurses) – promotes the concept of holistic health and is open to any parishioner who is professionally trained in health care
 
Holy Diggers – help to beautify the church, school and Haber Hall by planting and maintaining parish grounds
 
Ladies of Charity – visits the elderly and sick, serving them both spiritually and materially
 
Liturgical Art & Environment Committee – responsible for decorating the church and chapel and for maintaining the flowers and plants in both as well
 
Men’s Prayer Group – meets Saturday at 6:00 a.m. in the Chapel
 
Ministry of Hospitality – greets parishioners at church entrances, helps with seating, collects the offertory donations and passes out church bulletins after Mass
 
Ministry of Music – leads the parish in song as cantors, by singing in the choir, contemporary choir, children’s choir or by playing in the bell choir
 
Ministry of Praise – an intercessory prayer group, members of the group act as prayer warriors who are formally commissioned to pray for our parish family and the needs of the entire church
 
Pastoral Council – serves as an advisory council that with the Pastor envisions the direction and strategic plans for the parish
 
Prison Ministry – visits those at the Allegheny County Jail providing 1.) a literacy program 2.) a Bible support group and 3.)Eucharist.
 
Proclaimers of the Word (Lectors) – convey God’s word, lead the Prayers of the Faithful and make other announcements during Mass
 
Project Hope- a united effort to help the poorest people of the Appalachian region of Kentucky, includes a week long construction mission each summer
 
Respect Life – focuses on the sanctity of human life, works to educate on issues concerning the dignity of human life and our responsibility as a society to protect it
 
Scouts – allows children, in grades kindergarten – twelfth, to work on and achieve goals while developing leadership skills
 
Sewing Ministry – sews Baptism garments and altar linens in their homes as needed
 
Spark of Hope – collects and distributes food to local food banks and soup kitchens and distributes furniture to needy families in the North Hills and North Side of Pittsburgh
 
St. Martha’s Helpers – assists wherever there are parish events which require hospitality
 
St. Vincent de Paul Society – provides temporary assistance to those who are experiencing financial difficulties. Food is collected and distributed and other aid is provided.
 
Stewardship Committee – works to promote Stewardship as a way of life in our parish by: focusing on stewardship education, assisting with the ministry fair, and recognition dinner and encouraging parishioners to find the Ministry that best suits their God given abilities
 
Temporalities Committee - meets monthly to consider the temporal issues of the parish such as: facilities, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, heating, concrete, landscaping and capital projects
 
Vacation Bible School – gives children ages 4 – fourth grade a fun week of day camp filled with games, entertainment and learning about God
 
Vocations Council – promotes church vocations with emphasis on the priesthood, diaconate and religious life
 
Voices of Joy Prayer Group – meets Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel for a time of prayer and praise
 
Wedding Coordinators – help couples plan their liturgy and guide the bridal party through the wedding rehearsal
 
Youth Ministry – helps to foster the personal and spiritual growth of young people in our parish and provides a wide variety of social, service, worship and catechetical opportunities for 5th – 8th graders, high school students and young adults in their 20’s
