San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila Parish at Pleasant Hill Subdivision, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Bulacan 3023 PH - On Becoming a Parish

On Becoming a Parish
Message written on the Canonical Establishment of San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish
March 14, 2004

“You have not chosen me, I have chosen you.” We are truly blessed as a people to be called and chosen by our Lord to become a parish. Despite our weaknesses and shortcomings, He entrusted to us a great responsibility—to be co-makers of His Kingdom on earth thru the realization of our parish vision, that is, the building of a living, loving, praying and serving Christian community. Let this vision be our guiding light—our source of inspiration and our beacon of hope. For in our journey to realize this vision there will always be—
Times when the road seems so endless and rough;
Days when it seems easier to hate than to love;
Moments when the well of faith seems to run dry;
Seconds when death seems to overcome life;
And choices to make - of serving one’s interest or that of God’s and others.

My dear parishioners, ours is not an easy task. But you and I have proven in the past that together, with God’s blessings and graces, we can make daunting missions light. As we now embrace the challenges of a full-pledged parish, let us commit once again to be more prayerful and reflective; loving and forgiving to one another. Let us resolve to live the day-to-day message of the Gospel— All for the service and glory of God and His people!

In Christ's love,
Fr. Mario Jose C. Ladra Parish Priest
